I’ve made my very first podcast. It’s five minutes long and is available on soundcloud. The subject is Sir Alex Ferguson and what made him great. If you enjoy it please share it with your football loving friends! :) WARNING: Some of the language is a bit colourful!

I always like the style of shirts in Urban Outfitters but I don’t like their price tags, so I drew up my own design and ordered it off Spreadshirt. I’ll leave it there for any like minded Bundesliga fans. Either click image or link below to purchase :)

I basically wanted to have this as a shirt so I drew it up to order off of Spreadshirt. I’ll leave it there for any like minded Bundesliga fans. Either click image or link below to purchase :)
I’ve been capturing various well known footballing philosophies in a minimalist style over the last year. So far I’ve illustrated the fortress like Catenaccio, the myriad of passing triangles that is Tiki Taka, the dynamic Total Football and now my latest is a nod to Brazilian culture’s close links to both football and music. I drew a parallel between the strings on a guitar, an instrument used in Samba music, and the free form creative way in which Brazil line out.

I studied product design in college and Dutch design has always interested me. I hadn’t dedicated a detailed illustration to Johan Cruyff yet and It occurred to me that one of the the most famous Dutch products is the ‘Cruyff Turn’ which would in turn make Cruyff a designer himself. If I could infuse a print of him with some Dutch design principles this observation could come full circle. The Dutch have the ability to make fun of themselves and their work has a way of combining things that usually don’t combine at all. So here I tried to illustrate this by visually incorporating his nickname, Pythagoras in Boots, into his playing style.

Cruyff poster finished. Who likes it? Who doesn’t? Anything you think is improvable? Please share your thoughts :)
