DAY 7: NETHERLANDS VS WEST GERMANY, 1974
The Netherlands famously held possession straight from tip off which meant the West Germans hadn’t even touched the ball by the time the Dutch had the ball in the back of the net. An out of sorts West Germany got their own penalty midway through the half and Gerd Muller broke Dutch hearts in the 43rd minute. Cruyff would never get that World Cup winners medal.
