I love the game Journey and I wanted to capture the feeling of slight suspense and awe that the landscape evokes when playing it. Hopefully this GIF does just that. Enjoy :)
It’s the blimp from Blade Runner.
I dreamt of a giant thunderstorm unfolding above my head. I was lying on my back amongst wild heather on the side of a hill. The clouds, like blimps, were floating near motionless and were shaped like blue whales. Their blank sad eyes pointing sidewards, staring at nothing, all the while giving off a musty amber glow. Sparking from their pale underbellies were streaks of unpolished golden lightning. It looked dull, as if it was let go grubby after many years of use. And then from within the floating giants bellies came the drawn out thump of thunder. Echoing off monstrous ribs and booming rhythmic internal organs, it pressed me deeper into sleep. From their throats wafted blurred snatches of meaningless whale song.
I love writing surreal short stories. Lately I’ve started writing bits and pieces again. I try to keep them simple but evocative. This is a simple little scenario of a few things I love: dreams, sleeping through a storm and football.
Hope you like it :)

A Night at Camp Nou.
From reading Graham Hunter’s BARCA book I could really get a sense of the pressure and loneliness that a young Leo Messi must have felt when he moved to Barcelona. I can’t imagine being the reason your family moved halfway around the world. For them to uproot their lives so you can pursue a profession with a very limited chance of success must be terrifying in its own way. This comic aimed to capture that sense of homesickness but also have a sliver of hope at the end.
I hope you enjoy it!
