LAST PRINT AUCTION FOR A GOOD CAUSE
This post is for the last print of my limited edition poster, ‘Invincibles’. I designed this to commemorate the unstoppable Arsenal team of the 03-04 season. Including games on either ends of the season before and after they went a total of 49 league games unbeaten.

All money raised will go to a cause close to my heart. My mother works in a regional centre for people with Mental Disability. Carers socialise with the residents of this centre all the time but they depend on a ‘social fund’ to pay for any activities they do. This always needs topping up and I would like to donate any money earned from this print to that cause.
This print initially went on sale a year ago and 48 of them sold out within 6 hours. I thought I had moved all on but this last one turned up when cleaning my studio. Great effort was put into getting each players stance and personality just right. If they had a unique accessory or physical trait it’s represented here; from Vieira’s vick smattered on his chest to Henry’s knee high socks.Professionally printed on 160 gram paper perfect for framing or wall mounting.Comes in a mailing tube, by registered mail.

The print can be found here or by clicking the image itself.

MESUT OZIL, GOAL ARCHITECT
Ozil is a hard subject to approach, for me at least, as he commands your attention in a very specific way, his assists and his eyes. He is a very distinctive looking person and there is no getting away from that. To do a portrait is to tackle his eyes. To do a full body rendering is to do the same albeit to a lesser extent.
Over the last few weeks I have been sketching out rough ideas for what I could concentrate on, from his posture to his portrait. In chatting to some knowledgable people on Twitter I started to see him as a form of football engineer. When I mentioned this phrase to someone they agreed but said he was more of an architect. This image was quite inspiring.
The path it put me on lead to me taking a step back and re-evaluating what an assist actually was, a creative instinct that moments before was just a thought in someones mind, or a blueprint if you will.
I am happy that I have managed to cohesively illustrate the creation of an assist and tracked it right through to it hitting the net. This specific goal embodies Ozil’s signature as once it crosses the line it becomes an O with an umlaut above it, almost as if he is signing the piece of art he has just made.
This is now available as a print from my shop, just click this link to see it.

I’ve been asked so much and for so long to make an illustration of Jack Wilshere I just had to. The guy is perfectly poised to excel in the game as it is at the moment. His build, dynamism, vision and tenacity mark him out as an outstanding footballer. He’s Arsenal through and through and I showed that by having the Arsenal cannon in the stars. Also his number is spelt out by the London cityscape. Oh and he’ll be captain soon!
